How Does the UroLift® System Work?
While the patient is under general anesthesia, the doctor will insert the UroLift® delivery device through the compressed urethra. Small, permanent implants are then placed so the enlarged prostate tissue is lifted and held in a way that doesn’t compress the urethra, allowing urine to flow normally. Although patients may experience a small amount of blood in their urine and some minor discomfort for a few days following the procedure, regular activities can usually be resumed within 48 hours.
